Sometimes it takes leaving one’s homeland to truly appreciate where you are and how far you have come.  My journey, fueled by my lifelong dream to be a chef, brought me from the streets of South Africa to the kitchens of America.  The practice of cooking became the stage for showcasing my creativity, rediscovering my roots, and giving birth to Afrodizzy.

My dream is to share South Africa’s successes and serve up to the world the triumphs of a nation whose vital ingredients are love, courage, and hope.  My recipes reflect the diversity of South Africa’s natural beauty, the traditions of its people, and their divergent ethnic cuisines.  I dedicate this site to the people and the spirit of South Africa . . . aptly called “The Rainbow Nation.”
